Non Traditional Therapy
Yoga
Yoga is a excellent exercise for all. Especially those with special needs. Some benefits of Yoga are increased flexibility, strength and stability and greater lung capacity.
Music Therapy
Music is a great way to achieve a variety of individualized goals such as emotional, physical, communication skills and cognitive skills. Therapy sessions can involve listening to a variety of music, making music in many creative ways, or both.
TRADITIONAL THERAPY
Biofeedback
Biofeedback provides visual and auditory feedback to the patient to use their mind to control muscle function. This teaches the patient how to activate and control specific muscles targeted to improve their physical performance in therapy.
Kids Fitness Program
Fitness is so important to our overall well being. A child with limited mobility can greatly benefit from a structured fitness program designed especially for children with special needs. Helping them become stronger and have greater endurance.
Hourly Physical Therapy
A vigorous physical therapy treatment plan will be designed and customized specifically for your child. PT will be provided a minimum of 6 hours per week to 20 hours per week ongoing in the after school hours often by our same outstanding staff of physical therapists from the intensive therapy program in the mornings. Intensive ongoing therapy with intensive ongoing results.
Hourly Occupational Therapy
After sessions of OT is provided often in conjunction with the PT sessions. OT is able to focus in and provide treatment for deficits in fine motor task, development delays, cognitive issues, sensory issues and feeding disorders.
Manual Therapy
Treatment includes all the means of hands-on work and could include, but is not limited to, soft tissue mobilization, various connective tissue techniques, myofascial release, craniosacral techniques, mobilization of tissue, strain and counter-strain techniques.
Functional Electrical Stimulation
(commonly abbreviated as FES) is a technique that uses electrical currents to activate nerves innervating extremities that are weak such as in patients with C.P, TBI, post Stroke or other neurological disorders. FES passively activates the nerves which make the muscle activate. This strengthens the muscle and is often used in conjunction with a functional skills
