FOOT PROBLEMS
The cause for the foot drop is injury to lateral poplitel
nerve at the level of poplitel fossa or neck of fibula in
the leg result in weakness or paralysis of tibialis anterior
mule.
Plantar fascitis
An inflammation of the plantar fascia commonly due to series
of micro trauma to the plantar fascia and sustained stress
during weight bears. The patient is usually a middle aged
adult complaining of pain in one or both heals. Typically
this pain is felt over the inner aspect of the sole or heal,
is worse in the early morning and the patient is unable to
bear weight on getting up from bed. The tenderness is usually
noticed at the inner part of calcaneus especially the site
of origin of plantar fascia.
Calcaneal spur
A Calcaneal spur is a small bony projection that
is formed on the calcaneus or heel bone. It is a late sequel
of plant fascitis due to continue overstrain of plantar fascia
results in stripping of periosteum from its origin at the
calcaneus, resulting in formation of a bony spur.
What are the symptoms A sharp, stabbing pain under the heel
(sole). The pain is typically relieved during rest, but is
worse after getting up again. Early morning pain Pain gets
worse on walking on hard or uneven surface

weight bearing and is relieved by resting the foot. Normally
on standing and walking one – third of the body weight
falls on the forefoot and distributed between the pads of
toes and metatarso phalangeal joints of foot. In this the
pain will occurs over the sole or in the heads of the metatarsal
bones when the forefoot takes up the excessive proportion
of body weight. It is common due to the following factors:
collapse of anterior arch of the foot, muscular weakness (intrinsic
muscles), wearing high heels shoes, Secondary to hallux valgus,
cavus foot and claw toes.
