Median nerve injury
The Median nerve arises in the axilla from the medial and
lateral cords (C5, C6, C7, C8, and T1). It supplies the muscles.
It runs down in front of the elbow and supplies muscular branches
in the forearm and enters the palm. Its main sensory supply
is to thumb, index and middle fingers. The median nerve can
be injured at the following levels.
Elbow level at the level of the wrist in the carpal
tunnel. |
