Bell’s palsy
Bells palsy is a common nervous condition in the face
characterized by weakness or paralyzed of facial muscle caused
by trauma – injury to the facial nerve, infection- meddle
ear infections and weather-exposure the face to cold weather.
Symptoms of Bell's palsy usually begin suddenly and reach their
peak within 48 hours. Commonly it will unilateral but in rare
cases it can affect both sides. Most of the patient either walk
up to find they have bells palsy or have the symptoms Asymmetrical
smile, tearing or dry eye, Inability to close the eye, Synkinesis(
Involuntary movement associated with a voluntary movement, most
commonly associated with the mouth and eye), inability to whistle
or pucker lips, food caught in cheek-Paralyzed side, may be
change in speech. The prognosis of bells palsy is generally
good, the condition gets better with physiotherapy treatment,
and it played a main role in the management bells palsy, the
course of treatment will take normally 3 to 4 weeks.
