Multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease
affects the central nervous system. The exact cause is unknown,
but many research believe that the damage to the myelin sheath
is the predisposing factors Most of the patients experience
their early symptoms such as muscle weakness mainly in the extremities,
problems in balancing the body and coordination, vision problems
like double vision and color distortion and later stages in
the chronic cases these symptoms may be severe enough to impair
their standing and walking leads to disabled. Not all symptoms
affect all the patients.
Medical treatments combine with physiotherapy can modify the
course of the disease and control the severity of their symptoms. |
